It's known that Madhu Matena, the producer, is keen on making a 3D film based on the epic Ramayana. The multi-lingual project was supposed to go on the floors long back. But due to some reasons, it got stalled. The project has been kept alive and there are rumours that Deepika Padukone could essay Sita in the movie.
As per the latest buzz, Mahesh Babu has been offered the role of Lord Rama. The makers reportedly feel that the 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' actor's looks and demeanour are apt for the role. The Telugu superstar is believed to have gone through the script and is yet to take the final call.
If the project comes through, he will be the second major Tollywood star who would be playing Rama's role, the other one being Prabhas.
