'Telugu Abbayi Gujarati Ammayi' is an upcoming web series starring Akhil and Monal Gujjar of Bigg Boss fame. With love and friendship as the crucial elements, this one is directed by Bhaskar Bantupalli. Marking Valentine's Day, its first look was released.
Speaking about the web series, the director said, "In Bigg Boss, the Akhil-Monal duo impressed us big-time. A friend advised me to do a film in their combination. I wrote a line keeping the duo in mind. This is a love story between a Gujarati girl living in Hyderabad and a man from a Telugu village. The shoot will start sometime in March."
Producer A Bhaskar Rao said, "I am a director basically. I watched the fourth season of Bigg Boss without missing a single episode. We in the family connected with the Akhil-Monal duo. I am excited about this project."
Akhil said, "The web series will show how I and Monal became close in the Bigg Boss house and the emotions between us. I play a small-town guy who migrates to Hyderabad and struggles to land a software job. I bump into a Gujarati girl and fall in love with her."
Monal Gujjar said, "The web series also deals with the adjustment issues faced by a Gujarati woman in Hyderabad. The title is so apt."
