Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Telangana Cinematography Minister, today assured the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce that he will take up their concerns and bring them to the attention of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Sunil Narang, Anupam Reddy, Abhishek Nama, Sadanand Goud, and Bala Govind Raj today met with him and urged the government to waive off the property tax on theatres, which have been shut down for the most part of the time since last March.
They said that the SGST has to be abolished for theatres for some time. The exhibitors also want the single screens to collect a nominal parking fee.
These issues will now be considered by the CM.
