Nani's speech at the pre-release event of 'Thimmarusu' has become a talking point in the film industry and Tollywood media. The reasons are obvious.
The actor has indirectly confirmed that 'Tuck Jagadish' will opt only for a theatrical release. By doing so, he has laid to rest unconfirmed rumours that the family entertainer will release directly on OTT if Andhra Pradesh doesn't see ticket prices being hiked in B and C Centres by August.
In his speech, Nani also spoke against the irrational curbs on ticket prices in AP. He suggested that it's not about the remunerations of actors and technicians but the livelihoods of lakhs of people who are dependent on the theatre ecosystem.
Lastly, Nani also raised the point of the shutting down of theatres during the lockdown. Rightly or wrongly, he said that theatres are safe if all Covid protocols are followed by the audience. The 'Shyam Singha Roy' actor argued that restaurants and pubs are allowed to be reopened but theatres are the last ones to be reopened during the pandemic. For the 'Ante Sundaraniki' actor, restaurants are not safe, considering that you can't mask up while eating. On the other hand, theatres don't pose this problem.
All in all, Nani was at his oratorical best!
