After incessantly delivering oxygen cylinders to the needy, actor-philanthropist Sonu Sood in on setting up oxygen plants across the country on a war footing. Last month, he set up oxygen plants in Kurnool and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.
Much progress is being made on the front. The actor is looking at stemming the oxygen crisis by going to the root of the problem. It's learned that his Foundation is setting up a plant in Mangalore in Karnataka. Besides, work is going on at a brisk pace in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and a few other States.
It's learned that the plants will cater to the needs of as many as 5,500 beds. They will start functioning from July.
Sonu Sood is giving utmost preference to hospitals where the poor and needy are being treated for free. He doesn't want a single covid patient to lose their life.
In anticipation of the third wave, his Foundation is making preparations in a big way. As many as 750 oxygen concentrators are being distributed for domestic usage. The endeavour will go on for years to come.
