Yash is now in the top league. With 'KGF 2' minting Rs 60 Cr (estimated gross at the time of writing this piece) in Hindi on Day 1, the Sandalwood actor has been compared with Prabhas' popularity.
In both the 'KGF' movies, Yash is seen with a thick, long beard. If you see his previous movies in Kannada where he played rom-com actor roles without a beard, you will discover that Yash has got half-decent looks at best. Yes, looks don't matter for an actor as long as his acting is likeable. But a beard can hide an actor's acting deficiency. We tend to be kind to artists who sport a beard because we don't find any reason to lash out at their acting. We don't see much of his face at all. So, how do we even critique his performance with specifics?
This is where the challenge arises. Does Yash have the acting talent in him to impress the non-Kannada audience in non-action movies once he takes off his 'KGF' beard? Or even in action movies when he sports no beard? Prabhas didn't have a beard in 'Saaho' and 'Radhe Shyam'. The Hindi audience sort of liked him in 'Saaho', which was an action movie.
We agree that Yash is mind-blowing in the 'KGF' movies. But let's also consider his pre-KGF body of work and what he might possibly achieve once he takes off his beard.
