Dil Raju on Thursday said that Active Producers Guild is not the final arbiter in the disputes/issues concerning Telugu cinema. Recently, the Guild, of which Raju is a key member, was accused of unilaterally suspending film shoots in Tollywood. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and Producers Council supported the strike later.
At today's press meet, Dil Raju minced no words when he stated that the Chamber is the ultimate decision-maker and not the Guild. He indicated that the media is making empty noise by attributing motives to him. "I have no personal agenda," the producer of RC15 and 'Vaarasudu' iterated.
Dil Raju and C Kalyan used the opportunity to tell the media that Tollywood is a united house. There are no fissures, they suggested.
The supremo of Sri Venkateswara Creations added that the ongoing strike will hopefully come to an end soon. "Nobody wants this to be a long-drawn affair that keeps boiling for months," the producer said.
Four committees:
Four separate committees are brainstorming on different issues. Digital release, Virtual Print Fee (which producers, exhibitors, or distributors pay digital service providers like Qube), cost of production (reducing wastage), and wages (paid to workers affiliated to the Telugu Film Federation) are being discussed by the committees.
