Anand Deverakonda has had two theatrical and two OTT releases thus far. His debut film 'Dorasaani' and his second theatrical release 'Pushpaka Vimanam' tanked at the box office.
'Highway' would have been this third theatrical flop but Aha saved him. The outdated thriller, which started streaming today on Aha, was acquired by the OTT platform, thus saving Anand from scoring a hat-trick.
On OTT, Anand's track record is a mixed one, with 'Middle Class Melodies' (Amazon Prime Video) getting him applause. The film was critically acclaimed, while nobody knows the numbers it clocked.
'Highway', in total contrast, is an unbearable thriller. Directed by KV Guhan of '118' fame, the film has been panned by critics.
Anand's hopes are now on 'Baby', which is touted to be a new-age love story directed by Sai Rajesh ('Colour Photo' fame producer). Produced by SKN, the film is in the post-production phase. 'Gam Gam Ganesh' is his another project.
