SS Rajamouli recently advised Natural Star Nani to make the December release season synonymous with the 'HIT' franchise. The HIT verse is going to have 7 films. The second edition is going to hit the cinemas on December 2.
Rajamouli feels that if the rest of the five parts are also released in December in the coming years, the audience will register the franchise as synonymous with the season. If they are made to expect a 'HIT' film every December, it will be a great marketing tool. 'Word of mouth' will be organic and widespread. Producer Nani can even save money on publicity if that happens, as the anticipation for the next edition will be built for months naturally by the audience.
Director Dr. Sailesh Kolanu feels that the idea is great from the marketing perspective. However, practical difficulties exist.
Kolanu will have to do no other film for the next 5-7 years. He will have to work exclusively on 'HIT' franchise. If it is not creatively practical, then Rajamouli's idea will fall apart.
There are also other difficulties. If 'HIT 3' or later films need a big star cast, delays will be inevitable.
Nagarjuna wanted 'Bangarraju' to be released only for a Sankranthi. That's why he made the entire team finish it on a war footing in the last quarter of 2021. It's not possible everytime and for everyone to accomplish such things.
