Producer Lagadapati Sridhar's son Vikram is all set to make a debut as a lead actor in 'Virgin Story'. The film, which is a rom-com, has blocked its release date.
The movie, co-starring Soumika Paniyan, Rishika Khanna, Vineet Bavishetty and others, will head to theatres on February 18.
Ahead of the release, director Pradip B Atluri has said that the word 'Virgin' in the title shouldn't be misconstrued in a narrow sense. While the word is associated only with the three-lettered word starting with 's' and ending with 'x', it also has other connotations: freshness, purity and unexplored space.
Virginity can also mean someone who is just a learner and has taken the plunge into a new space with all enthusiasm.
'Virgin Story' explores the possibilities of teenage life. "Teenage is a space where everyone learns and explores new things. They are curious, their adrenaline is rushing, their hormones are raging, they are extra sentimental and overthink everything. Times have changed and the world has changed,' the makers say, inviting us to think about the title. The film seems to convey the message that the behaviour of today's teens should be understood. "We have to be compassionate, kind to the teen minds. Everything they go through is natural," the makers say.
The makers suggest that 'Virgin Story' is more than what its title suggests on the surface. The film is produced by Sirisha Lagadapati and Sridhar Lagadapati.
