It begs the question: Are Tollywood superstars really exploiting the people's love for them? If yes, what can be done about it?
Let's analyze the claim. Is it true that Indian actors in Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood have been getting huge amounts as fees? Yes. Is it a problem area? A big yes. Bollywood producer Karan Johar recently said that several Bollywood heroes are frustrating producers by charging unbelievable fees. "They are beyond deluded," Johar said. He added, "They are demanding Rs 25-30 Cr without delivering a single box office blockbuster."

RGV's argument is a rational one. He said that it's for the producer and the audience to pay a hero the amount they deem fit. If a producer deems it fit that a hero deserves Rs 50 Cr, he will pay it. And the ticket prices will be decided based on the costs that need to be recovered. This is how the market works.
But why is Karan Johar complaining? Why are many producers secretly cursing heroes? It's because heroes are demanding too much. And it's for the market forces to teach them a lesson, not the government. Does the government reduce the prices of cars and refrigerators on the pretext of controlling the high salaries paid to CEOs? It doesn't.
