'Kondaa' is Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming release. A biopic based on the life of Konda Murali and Konda Surekha from Warangal, the movie stars Thrigun aka Adith Arun and Irra Mor in the lead.
On Friday, at an event held in Hyderabad, RGV announce that the biographical action drama will head to theatres on June 23.
Speaking on the occasion, RGV said, "You must have understood the basic plot from the trailer. I have made films revolving around rowdyism in Vijayawada and factionism in Rayalaseema. I hadn't known much about Telangana until I heard about Konda Murali from someone. I got interested in his life story. I researched about him to make this film. Konda Sushmitha Patel came forward to produce the film because it is the biopic of her parents. I accepted her offer."
Konda Sushmitha Patel said, "The story of this film takes place in the 1980s. My parents started out as student leaders. They got attracted to the radical part later. Their journey was not easy. They faced tremendous challenges."
Thrigun said, "I never imagined that I would look this good as Konda Murali. RGV garu likes to record unknown incidents and history. My first heroine Genelia, long ago, wished that I should do action movies and not just romantic movies. Her vision has come true with 'Kondaa'."
Prudhviraj, Tulasi, LB Sriram, 'Auto' Ram Prasad, Abhilash Chowdhary, Shravan and others are part of the cast. Produced by Company Production and YoYo Talkies, the film has cinematography by Malharbhatt Joshi.
