Prithviraj Sukumaran's 'Kaduva' is a high-octane action drama slated to head to theatres on June 30. Its teaser was released at an event in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mollywood star Prithviraj thanked the Telugu audience for "accepting" his previous Malayalam movie, 'Jana Gana Mana', which has been streaming on Netflix. "That movie did very well in Hyderabad. The Telugu audience are cinema-lovers. I have always loved to shoot in this city. 'Bro Daddy' was entirely shot in Hyderabad. Coming to 'Kaduva', it's a very special film to me. The Malayalam film industry makes realistic, thought-provoking movies. We have made 'Kaduva' at a time when Mollywood is not making mass action entertainers," the actor added.
Prithviraj, who is also doing Prabhas' 'Salaar', said that the Telugu-dubbed version has been planned in detail. "All my future films are going to have a Telugu release. My film 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum' was remade in Telugu as 'Bheemla Nayak'. Also, Chiranjeevi garu is doing the remake of my movie 'Lucifer' as 'Godfather'. I am confident that a big Telugu-Malayalam cross-over project is going to happen soon," he added.
Vivek Oberoi said, "I was born in Hyderabad. And a lot of my relatives are residents of this city. I remember the days when I used to go on a picnic at Gandipet and roam on the Tank Bund road. 'Kaduva' is a rocking movie that tells the story of a clash between two strong men. Prithviraj narrated the story over the phone. The story felt like a bullfight."
Arjun Ashokan, Siddique, Aju Varghese and Dileesh Pothan have played different roles. Starring Malayalam actress Samyuktha Menon as the heroine, the film is scripted by Jinu V Abhraham.
