'Jayamma Panchayathi' is heading to theatres on May 6. Helmed by debutant director Vijay Kumar K, the film stars Suma Kanakala, Devi Prasad, Shalini K and Dinesh Kumar in main roles.
On Wednesday, actor Mahesh Babu unveiled the film's release trailer. In the past, Pawan Kalyan had released the main trailer. Ram Charan, Nani, Rajamouli, Trivikram Srinivas and Varun Tej as well have supported the movie.
In a recent interview, director Vijay Kumar K said that 'Jayamma Panchayathi' is inspired by real individuals. "I have dramatized the people I have met throughout my life. This is a fictional story although some of the scenes are inspired by true events. The film is about Jayamma's contestation. Jayamma comes from a family that was once affluent. She wades into serious trouble in the village. The controversy snowballs into a major controversy occupying the mind space of the villagers. Jayamma is naive. At the same time, she has a strong point," he added.
