Vijay Deverakonda celebrates his birthday today (May 9). On the occasion, his 'Liger' and 'Jana Gana Mana' director Puri Jagannadh took bombast to another level.
The 'Pokiri' director became unduly hyperbolic and said that Vijay will one day become the country's pride. In the era of multi-lingual cinema releases, it's fashionable to use terms like 'pan-Indian'. But calling Vijay 'The Vijay Deverakonda' and India's future pride is over-the-top.
Some day, Vijay might become India's pride. But that day is not in sight even if you are an unreasonable Vijay fan. Even if 'Liger' and 'JGM' become hits in Hindi, Vijay will have much ground to cover to make Indians feel proud of him. The 'Arjun Reddy' actor would do well to ignore exaggerated praises.
