'Shekar', a cop thriller, is heading to theatres on May 20. On Tuesday, the film's pre-release event was held in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajasekhar said that he thought his days were numbered when he was almost put on a ventilator during a coronavirus infection in 2020. He thanked his fans and well-wishers for their blessings. He assured paisaa vasool content in 'Shekar'.

Jeevitha Rajasekhar, who has directed the movie, said that 'Shekar' will be screened in all threats at government-mandated rates. There is no ticket rate hike.

Shivani Rajasekhar got emotional when she spoke of how many people blamed her when her father contracted Covid-19. "It is because of me that my father contracted the infection. I was really sad and went to my father to say that he should recover quickly for our sake," Shivani said.

The event was attended by Sukumar as a chief guest. He said that he was inspired by the movies of Rajasekhar to become a director. The 'Pushpa' director made a reference to movies like 'Ankusham' and 'Thalambralu', movies that shaped Rajasekhar's career in the 1980s.
