On Thursday, the trailer of 'Shekar' was released at the hands of Adivi Sesh. Starring Dr. Rajasekhar as a retired cop and his daughter Shivani as his onscreen daughter, the movie will be released in theatres on May 20.
Speaking today on the occasion of the movie's release, director Jeevitha highlighted Shekar's emotional quotient. "It is as emotional as an 'Akka Mogudu', a 'Simha Rasi', and a 'Gorintaku'," she said, adding that the film has the potential to attract the family audience to theatres.
Produced by Beeram Sudhakara Reddy, Shivani Rajashekar, Shivathmika Rajashekar, and Boggaram Venkata Srinivas, the film is a remake of a Malayalam movie. Dr. Rajasekhar said that he suffered badly due to a coronavirus infection during the making of the film. He thanked his fans and well-wishers for their prayers.
With music by Anup Rubens, 'Shekar' has Sameer and others in key roles.
