Om Raut-directed Adipurush, starring Prabhas as Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan as Ravana and Kriti Sanon as Sita, will arrive at the cinemas on 16 June 2023. In other words, the pan-India behemoth has been postponed by six months.
The decision comes in the wake of poor feedback over the film's teaser. The buzz is that the looks of Ravana (who appears foreign in the teaser) and the Vanaras will be altered by carrying out extensive VFX in the coming months.
"This is not a film, but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Sri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Your support, love and blessings is what keeps us going," the director today said.
The film's postponement de-clutters the Sankranti race.
