Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were on Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain to pray at the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple. By the time the celebs reached the temple, scores of Hindu activists had reached the spot. They showed black flags and protested against the Bollywood couple entering the temple.
The activists reportedly belong to the Bajrang Dal. The Hindu outfit was protesting against the 'Brahmastra' duo because Ranbir had once said in a video clip that he is a beef-lover. The Dal feels that nobody who eats beef can be called a Hindu.
The protesters were reportedly lathi-charged by the police.
'Brahmastra', meanwhile, is hitting the cinemas on Sept 9. It is estimated that the film is going to mint one of the best Day 1 figures in the post-pandemic era.
