Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Ayan Mukerji on Tuesday announced that the sequels to 'Brahmastra 1' will be shot simultaneously. However, they are not going to be shot and released anytime soon. The fantasy action movies will be released much later.
'Brahmastra 2' will hit the cinemas in December 2026, while the third installment of the trilogy will be released in theaters in December 2027.
Director Ayan Mukerji is planning to shoot the two films simultaneously, much like how Mani Ratnam shot the two 'Ponniyin Selvan' movies.
The second and third installments are going to be bigger. Ayan has taken into consideration all the feedback to the first part, which ran well at the BO but was critically panned by many.
Why the delay in making 'Brahmastra 2' and 'Brahmastra 3'? The director will be busy with some other project in the meanwhile. That's why the sequels have been put off for now.
