'Animal' is turning out to be the most impactful film of year 2023, at least as far as some Telugu film directors are concerned. In a roundtable discussion, the makers of 'Balagam', 'Virupaksha', 'Bhagavanth Kesari', and 'Veera Simha Reddy' said that 'Animal' literally blew their minds away.
"I was in a state of trance for a week after watching the movie," said Venu Yeldandi, whose 'Balagam' became an unexpected blockbuster this year.
'Virupaksha' maker Karthik Dandu said that the depth of writing, and the conversations between husband (Ranbir Kapoor) and wife (Rashmika Mandanna) stunned him.
Anil Ravipudi said that 'Animal' and 'Balagam' are the two most extreme films of the year. He meant to say that the former was an action drama on steroids, while the latter was a sob drama with a difference.
Gopichand Malineni iterated similar views about the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial.
