'Maya Petika', starring Payal Rajput (to be also seen in 'Mangalavaaram' soon), Rajath Raghav, Viraj Ashwin, and Simrat Kaur, is back in the news. The film is heading to theatres on June 30.
Its trailer was released at an event in Hyderabad on Thursday. At more than three minutes, the trailer attempts to introduce us to the kaleidoscopic world of its umpteen characters without giving away the plot. The makers are relying on themes like lust for power, the pull of love, the lucre of money and the irreplaceable place of the smartphone in our lives.
Since the trailer is more than three minutes long, expect the movie to be sure-footed, as long trailers sometimes signal the confidence of the director.
Produced by Just Ordinary Entertainments, the film is bankrolled by Magunta Sarath Chandra Reddy and Taraknath Bommireddy. Director Ramesh Raparthi has mined the talent of Sunil, Prudhviraj, Srinivas Reddy and others for madcap humour. Himaja and Shyamala have a serious and a semi-comical role, respectively.
The film has music by Guna Balasubramanian.
