'Adipurush' was released in theatres on June 16. On the first day of its run at the box office, it grossed Rs 140 Cr globally. As per the makers, it has grossed Rs 450 Cr in 10 days, with a lion's share coming from Telugu and Hindi versions. The performance accentuates the crowd-pulling image of Prabhas.
The makers are following a wise pricing strategy to promote the epic outing in the Hindi belt. Last week, the 3D version's ticket prices were as low as Rs 150. This week, the ticket rates have been brought down further to Rs 112. Charges for 3D glasses will be additional.
The epic movie has been presented in Telugu by People Media Factory. Produced by T-Series and UV Creations, the film has Saif Ali Khan as Ravana and Kriti Sanon as Sita.
Director Om Raut and his team have been receptive to feedback from the audience. After the first weekend, a couple of objectionable lines were replaced by the makers, who were happy to bow to public sentiment.
