'Mahishasurudu' has been made with a sense of responsibility towards fellow humans, the makers of the upcoming release said on Wednesday. Presented by Anirudh and Aparajitha of Sri Sivarama Arts, the film features cardiologist Dr. S Guruprasad as the protagonist. Co-starring Vinod, Richa Karla and Dharani Reddy in pivotal parts, the film is helmed by Ravikumar Gonugunta.
Its audio release function was attended by Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Tanikella Bharani, Relangi Narasimha Rao and Gautham Raju as chief guests.
Tanikella Bharani congratulated Guruprasad for taking his time out for the movie despite being a thoroughly busy professional. "He has bankrolled this film with the intention of stirring the conscience of the audience and awakening the society," Bharani added.
Dr. S. Guruprasad, the protagonist and producer, said, "We seem to be lagging behind in terms of medical devices that are used to treat many diseases, starting with heart transplants. Our film conveys the message of self-reliance that can save crores of rupees and reduce the burden on patients. We are dependent on advanced countries for medical equipment. And it's mainly because we don't encourage our scientists and researchers enough."
Music director Saket Sairam said, "Having done films in Telugu as well as many other languages, it gives me great pleasure to provide music for films with such good content."
