Siddharth awaits the theatrical release of 'Takkar' on June 9 in Telugu and Tamil. Directed by Karthik G Krish, the up-and-coming movie is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal and Passion Studios. So far, three songs from the romantic action-thriller have been released.
Speaking at an event on Monday, co-producer Vivek Kuchibotla described the 'Bommarillu' actor as a fantastic performer, adding that the audience are going to witness the vintage Sid in the Monsoon release. For the first time, the 'Gruham' actor has been cast in a rugged role. He is no longer the lovey-dovey boy of the 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' days. 'Takkar', whose heroine is Divyansha Kaushik of 'Majili' fame, is a blend of action, romance and thrills.
Siddharth, who is known for critically-acclaimed performances in films like 'Rang De Basanti', said that 'Takkar' is a full-on commercial outing that shows him in a different avatar altogether. The multi-lingual hero sounded confident that the important release will become a commercial success.
The role in 'Takkar' was so demanding that Sid had to train in martial arts. The action-heavy nature of the entertainer is proved by the fact that canning the many fight scenes took 35 working days.
The film has got a 'poor guy falls in love with a rich girl and turns out to be a different person' vibe.
