"In every family - there is A Hero! This one is for all of you (sic)," Vijay Deverakonda wrote, plugging the Glimpse video of his upcoming movie 'Family Star'. Director Parasuram Petla, after casting Mahesh Babu in a larger-than-life role, now tries the trick with the 'Arjun Reddy' actor. The spin is that our hero, this time, is a proper family man who participates in household chores when he is not pulverizing the bad guys.
The teaser-like video suggests that Vijay takes on the mantle of a hyper-masculine attacker after he is confronted by the antagonist. Ajay Ghosh plays a negative role. Towards the end, we see the hero's onscreen wife, played by Mrunal Thakur, address her as 'Yevandi', something that leaves him surprised. Is there a redemption curve?
The film, produced by Dil Raju and Shirish, will head to the theatres for Sankranthi 2024. Gopi Sundar (music), KU Mohanan (cinematography), AS Prakash (art), and Marthand K Venkatesh (editing) are working on the movie.
After the unexpected success of 'Kushi' in Tamil, Sri Venkateswara Creations is targeting the Tamil Nadu market as well.
