It was on this day (April 1) in 1988 that its maiden venture, titled 'Chinnodu - Peddodu', was released in theatres.
The film was a remake of the Tamil hit 'Chinna Thambi - Periya Thambi'. Its remake rights were available for Rs 70,000. Director Relangi Narasimha Rao roped in Jandhyala to pen the dialogue, while SP Balasubrahmanyam took care of music. The film's first hero (Chandra Mohan) and SPB are Krishna Prasad's relatives. The film's shoot was wrapped up at a fast clip in less than a month back then.
"My voyage as a producer commenced with 'Chinnodu - Peddodu'. Regardless of how far one progresses in life, the inaugural stride should always be cherished. Embarking on my producer's journey was truly momentous! I remain eternally grateful to the unwavering support of SP Balasubrahmanyam uncle and Chandra Mohan mavayya. Through the highs and lows of my producer's odyssey, I persevered, fueled by the inspiration drawn from my debut venture," says Krishna Prasad, recalling that the entertainer, co-starring Rajendra Prasad as the second hero, went on to run for 100 days in 12 centres.
Krishna Prasad's next is with director Mohanakrishna Indraganti and hero Priyadarshi. Roopa Kodavayur is its heroine.
