Model and actress Poonam Pandey died of cervical cancer on Friday morning at the age of 32. Her team has said that they are deeply saddened to inform the world that they have "lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer". The official statement further reads, "Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared."
The erotic actress shot to fame in 2012 when she posed nude after Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL 5.
In the coming days, cervical cancer awareness will be deemed important by health experts. "Demise of Poonam Pandey at such a young age is so saddening yet it is why you should pay attention to this NOW! Pay attention to the risks and triggers associated with the cancer. It's the most prevalent type of cancer among women in India," an expert wrote.
