'Yatra 2' is slated to be released in theatres on February 8. Ahead of its release, inside trade information suggests that the propaganda political movie, made to promote the YSRCP, is one of the least financially viable projects ever.
The speculated budget of the film is Rs 40 Cr. As per a gossip doing the rounds, Mammootty and Jiiva were paid a bomb. Jiiva wouldn't have agreed to do the role of Jagan Mohan Reddy had the remuneration been nothing less than staggering. Any actor legitimately quotes a high figure for politically partisan movies. Moreover, Tamil cine stars are notorious for demanding absurdly high amounts. As for Mammootty, he is a superstar who deserves to be paid a lot.
'Yatra' didn't collect a share of more than Rs 8-10 Cr. 'Yatra 2' will turn out to be a major disaster if the same market range holds.
