Bollywood actor Mahesh Manjrekar will reportedly be seen as Nara Chandrababu Naidu in 'Yatra 2', directed by Mahi V Raghav. The political drama, tracing the rise of Jagan Mohan Reddy, will head to the theatres on February 8, 2024.
Mahesh, who was seen in last year's 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' as the Finance Minister, will be shooting for a few scenes in 'Yatra 2'. In his career spanning decades, Mahesh has barely acted in a few Telugu films. 'Okkadunnadu' remains his most impactful presence. Jr NTR's 'Adhurs' and Prabhas' 'Saaho', too, featured him.
Coming to 'Yatra 2', the film is going to face stiff competition from 'Tillu Square', which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on February 9, 2024. Produced by UV Creations' arm, 'Yatra 2' wants to cash in on the election-time fever in Andhra Pradesh. In terms of financial returns, it can't expect much, considering that its commercial elements are meagre. Jiiva, the Tamil actor, is playing Jagan. Mammootty will be seen in a cameo as YSR.
