'Sita Ramam', starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, was released in theatres on 5 August 2022. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, it featured Mrunal Thakur as the female lead and had Rashmika Mandanna in a key role.
The news is that the blockbuster is up for re-release in theatres on February 14. Marking Valentine's Day, the makers are re-releasing the epic romantic drama in theatres.
What is its story about? The story is set in two timelines. In 1984, Afreen (Rashmika Mandanna) comes in search of one Sita Mahalakshmi. She has to hand over an unopened letter to her. Back in 1964, Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer Salmaan) was wooed by Sita Mahalakshmi (Mrunal Thakur) after a shattering event. They both fell in love with each other and decided to get married. But destiny had other plans for them. In the early 1980s, can their story get closure?
More than 1.5 years later, director Hanu Raghavapudi is yet to take his next film to the floors. He will be teaming up with Prabhas and Mythri Movie Makers. Mrunal Thakur has become a star heroine of sorts. DQ awaits the release of the multi-lingual Tollywood film 'Lucky Bhaskar'.
