'Heeramandi', directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is going to be streamed on Netflix soon. Starring 'Bombay' fame Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, 'Sammohanam' fame Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh as courtesans, the film is set in Lahore in the pre-Independence era.
The buzz in the town is that Netflix has invested Rs 200 Cr into the project. The streaming giant feels that the show will be a game-changer in the realm of Indian OTT. It expects new subscribers to come in and existing subscribers to see more reasons than one to continue with their subscription after this show. Already, Netflix has been buying out many major Telugu and Tamil titles for post-theatrical streaming.
