In his latest interview, Mani Sharma opined that repeating the same music director by top actors like Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan and others is not helping. It was an indirect reference to the over-utilization of SS Thaman.
In this regard, there is an online debate among movie buffs about the "inadequate" exploration of the wide variety of musicians available to Telugu film directors. While Thaman, DSP, Sri Charan Pakala, Bheems Ceciroleo, and of late Vijay Bulganin bag a number of movies, there are many other composers out there waiting for their talent to be tapped.
Chaitan Bharadwaj of 'RX 100' fame, Pawan Ch of 'Love Story' fame, Mark K Robin of 'Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya' fame, Justin Prabhakaran of 'Radhe Shyam' fame, Achu Rajamani, and Sunny MR come to mind. Shakthikanth Karthick of 'Fidaa' fame and Shravan Bharadwaj of 'Malli Raava' fame are also unexplored.
Big stars and medium-range stars don't work with most of these music directors most of the time. That's why Hesham Abdul Wahab of 'Kushi' and 'Hi Nanna' fame and GV Prakash Kumar from Kollywood are getting brighter chances in Telugu cinema.
