Superstar Mahesh Babu's 29th film, to be directed by SS Rajamouli, is said to be budgeted at Rs 1,000 Cr. How come this is even imaginable in the context of Indian cinema? Courtesy, Netflix. Yes, the streaming giant is going to co-produce the movie. And, if the buzz in the tinseltown is anything to go by, the investment will be substantial.
Rajamouli and Netflix have had a strong bond since the 'RRR' days. The global popularity of 'RRR' is only because of Netflix releasing it in 200 countries digitally. In 2022, it was rumoured that SSMB29 will see investments by a Hollywood studio. Some or the other international stake in the Rs 1000-Cr movie was expected.
If Netflix co-producing the global film is true, it is sure to embody the most terrific visual quality in the history of Indian cinema.
The film will have its story written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who recently stated that the story is ready.
