The Oscar nominations for the 2024 Academy Awards have been made official. 'Oppenheimer' is the Numero Uno film with 13 nominations, the highest this year. The epic biographical thriller film was written and directed by Christopher Nolan. It stars Cillian Murphy as J Robert Oppenheimer.
'Poor Things' received 11 nominations. The acclaimed film was about a resurrected woman embarking on "an odyssey of self-discovery and sexual liberation."
'Killers of the Flower Moon' received 10 nominations. This American film was directed and produced by Martin Scorsese.
'Barbie' received 8 nominations. The American fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig.
Besides 'Barbie', 'Oppenheimer', and 'Killers of the Flower Moon', these movies received Best Picture nominations: 'American Fiction', 'Anatomy of a Fall', 'The Holdovers', 'Maestro', 'Past Lives', 'Poor Things', and 'The Zone of Interest'.
The Best Actor in a lead role nominations are: Bradley Cooper for 'Maestro', Colman Domingo for 'Rustin', Paul Giamatti for 'The Holdovers', Cillian Murphy for 'Oppenheimer', and Jeffrey Wright for 'American Fiction'.
Steven Spielberg received a record 13th Oscar Nomination for Best Picture, the Academy said.
The Oscars event will take place on a grand scale on March 10.
