Thalapathy Vijay is said to be seriously considering being in contention for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections this year, the 'Leo' actor's alleged political aspirations are being talked about by a section of the Tamil media.
"The star, who enjoys the greatest fan following among contemporary Tamil actors, has ascended to the position of president within his yet-to-be-christened political venture. He is poised for its grand unveiling in preparation for the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The formalities of enrollment with the Election Commission of India are anticipated to conclude before February end, coinciding with the finalization of the party's name," a report says.
In the past, almost all political rumours about Vijay turned out to be false.
Vijay will next be seen in 'The Greatest of All Time', a film featuring him in dual roles. The science fiction actioner, directed by Venkat Prabhu, also features Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary and others. Yuvan Shankar Raja is its music director.
