NEET, which stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, has been a single-level national exam carried out for medical aspirants across India since 2013. For years now, it has been vociferously opposed by vested political interests in Tamil Nadu.
On Wednesday, TVK chief and Kollywood superstar Vijay asked for reform because "people have lost faith in the NEET examination". The 'Sarkar' and 'Mersal' actor said that the country doesn't need NEET.
"Exemption from NEET is the only solution. I wholeheartedly welcome the resolution against NEET passed recently in the State Assembly. I request the Union Government to respect the emotions of the people of Tamil Nadu people," the actor said.
Vijay's next is titled 'Greatest Of All Time'. The science fiction action film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, is produced by AGS Entertainment. Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Parvati Nair, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Ajay Raj are part of the cast. It will be released in theatres on September 5.
