Kandula Durgesh, the Minister for Cinematography, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has said that plans are afoot to invite Tollywood producers to consider setting up a private studio in Tirupathi. In this regard, a parcel of land will be allocated. Other incentives will also be provided.
"These days, a lot of Telugu and Tamil films are being shot in Andhra Pradesh. In the absence of infrastructure, it is not a seamless experience for film shoots. Our government plans to facilitate the setting up of a studio in Tirupathi, which is an ideal place because of its geographical proximity to Chennai, the hub of technicians," Durgesh said.
More details of the proposal are awaited. The new government is also thinking of standardizing the process of ticket rate hikes for movies made on big budgets.
