Way back in the early 2000s, it was widely rumoured (backed by Telugu media reports at that time) that Pawan Kalyan had insulted director SJ Suryah on the sets of 'Kushi' (2001). Back in the day, it was a commonly propagated rumour that PK used to regularly abuse his directors if he failed to have his way. PK himself referred to the rumour concerning Suryah during a sit-out in front of a newspaper office in Hyderabad ahead of the release of 'Johnny' in 2003. Suryah later worked with PK on 'Komaram Puli', clarifying that all was well between them.
So, did PK really slap around Suryah during the making of 'Kushi'? If Suryah referring to PK as a friend is anything to go by, the gossip was made up by a section of the Telugu media two decades ago for sensationalism. At the pre-release event of 'Indian 2' yesterday, the Kollywood director said that he is proud that his friend PK is the Deputy CM of AP.
