In a recent interview, veteran actor Murali Mohan talked about an incident involving late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and several top Tollywood actors. The incident apparently happened sometime in 2006 or so.
ANR, Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and a few others, including Murali Mohan himself, happened to call on YSR in Hyderabad to urge him to take steps for the well-being of the Telugu film industry. After the meet, Murali Mohan went up to YSR and requested him for a photo-op with the delegation of heroes.
At this, YSR said that he had no time for the photo-op and excused himself. Murali Mohan felt that it was nothing less than a snub. "How much time would a photo-op take? All it takes is three minutes. I concede that someone of CM's stature would be short on time, but three minutes is not much," Murali Mohan said.
Netizens are saying that YSR's son, Jagan Mohan Reddy, exhibited a similar kind of attitude with respect to Telugu cinema heroes.
