Scores of projects. Scores of announcements on a single stage. Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday, at an event in Mumbai, revealed its list of 40 upcoming original series and movies in different languages. Most of them belong to Hindi. Some of them are from the Telugu and Tamil languages.
For the Telugu audience, a talk show and three Original films are of particular interest. Rana Daggubati will be hosting a talk show. The same has been named 'The Rana Connection'. 'Uppu Kappu Rambu', an original Telugu film, is also in the making. Keerthy Suresh is paired up with actor Suhas in this one. 'Cheekati Lo', an investigative thriller, is also in the making. 'Ghaati', a film starring Anushka Shetty and directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, was also made official.
The above three projects are in addition to a number of post-theatrical releases of big-ticket feature films like Pawan Kalyan's 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', Ram Charan's 'Game Changer', Nithiin's 'Thammudu', and others.
From Tamil, Suriya's 'Kanguva' will stream after its post-theatrical release. Dhanush's 'Raayan' is another movie from Kollywood.
From Hindi, more than films, Prime Originals are of particular interest: 'Panchayat 3', 'Mirzapur 3', 'Paatal Lok 2' and 'Bandish Bandits 2' are the ones. Besides these, more than a dozen Bollywood projects to be released post-theatrically were announced. The most high-profile Hindi Original is 'Citadel: Honey Bunny', starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan in the lead.
