Recently, Boney Kapoor indicated that he would be interested in remaking 'Uppena' in Bollywood. He was speaking at the launch event of Ram Charan's 16th movie, which features his daughter Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine. Director Buchi Babu Sana was present on the occasion.
The buzz is that the Hindi remake will see Boney-Sridevi's daughter, Kushi Kapoor, reprising Krithi Shetty. Most probably, a newcomer will be fronting the lead man's role. Vaisshnavi Tej and Krithi were freshers at the time of the movie's release.
The Hindi remake, it goes without saying, is fraught with risks. If the story is glamourized and sanitized, it won't have takers. The Marathi film 'Sairat' was spoiled by Bollywood. The Bollywood remake incidentally featured Janhvi as the heroine.
Buchi Babu Sana is not going to direct the Hindi remake for sure. Mythri Movie Makers might or might not be associated with the remake.
