The Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce is in favour of working out a system that has a fair share of benefits for exhibitors if the value of theatrical rights in Nizam territory is high. The new arrangement, to be implemented from July 1, will be applicable only for single screens.
The below sharing arrangement between exhibitors and distributors is favoured by two of the biggest players in Nizam: Asian Group and Sri Venkateswara Creations.
If the value of Nizam rights for a film is Rs 30 Cr or more, the exhibitor will get 25%, 45%, 60% and 70%, respectively, in the first four weeks. The rest will be pocketed by the distributor.
If the value is between Rs 10 Cr to Rs 30 Cr, the exhibitor will make 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% for the first four weeks.
If the value is Rs 10 Cr or less, it is 50%, 60%, and 70% for the first three weeks.
