'Devara' and 'Sathyam Sundaram' were released last Friday and Saturday, respectively. The latter, starring Karthi and Arvind Swami, is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Tamil-language comedy-drama 'Meiyazhagan'.
Despite unanimously positive 'word of mouth', 'Sathyam Sundaram' hasn't been doing that well in the Telugu States. This is not so shocking, considering that the film was expected to be overshadowed by Jr NTR's 'Devara'.
'Sathyam Sundaram' is a victim of bad timing. Asian Suresh Entertainments made sure the release was decent despite the 'Devara' domination.
Meanwhile, Karthi said that he felt a "great sense of love and compassion" as he read the script of the film. "The script filled my heart and I instantly wanted all of you to experience the same. I know it was a different genre but I was willing. This day I cannot express how grateful I am, to all of you, for embracing the film and the people behind it and showering us with words of praise and love," he wrote on social media. The film is directed by C Prem Kumar. Its music is by Govind Vasanth.
