Indian director Sohan Roy’s ‘Dam 999’ which is produced by Biz TV Network is all set to hit theaters on November 25th, 2011 through Warner Brothers Pictures. ‘Dam 999’ is the film based on the disaster of Banqiao Dam in China that killed about 250,000 people in 1975. This is more than a 100 year old dam and was constructed keeping in view the population density in the surrounding areas. 85% of 40,000 dams across the world will long last only till 2020. Even when cautioned, the dams have not proven entirely effective and have been the target of criticism from environmentalists. Heavy rains, floods, earth-quakes, etc., can destroy the dams. ‘Dam 999’ will give message to protect the people by showcasing the jeopardy due to dangerous dams.
‘Dam 999’ was made with high technical values on par with international standards. The audience can view the movie in 3D and 2D and experience the realistic feel. The main highlight is the climax which was shot with live set and visual effects. The background score with natural sound effects was done in AR Rahman studio in Chennai.
Many prominent personalities from Bollywood and Hollywood with 16 national and international awards in 9 different frames have exhibited their talent on the screen. While Eric Serman is the project consultant, Rob Tabin is the script director and Ujma Kisana Kong is the casting director.
