Talented director Neelakanta, who is known for directing versatile films like ‘Show’, ‘Missamma’, ‘Virodhi’ etc. and who has taken Telugu films to the national level and won many national and Nandi awards is now coming out with the latest film ‘Maaya’. Harshvardhan Rane, Avanthika, Sushma Raj and Nandini are part of the film which is produced by the duo Dr. MVK Reddy and Madhura Sreedhar Reddy under ‘Shiridi Sai Combines’ banner. The film is all set for release on 1st of August. Sekhar Chandra has rendered the musical scores. Promotional song of ‘Maaya’ was released on Friday (25th of July) in Hyderabad.
On this occasion, Lagadapati Sridhar said, “The promotional song is very good and it has commercial values. ‘Maaya’ will also join the league of the recent hits ‘Swami Ra Ra’, ‘Manam’ and ‘Drushyam’. Neelakanta and I were school mates. I was supposed to produce my first film under his direction. But, it didn’t work out. I am happy that, Sridhar, whom I have introduced to the film industry, has given a chance to national award winning director Neelakanta.”
Madhura Sridhar stated, “’Maaya’ is the concept based film. We have seen budget movies have turned out to be blockbusters. Rama has designed the Dhoti song wonderfully. Lagadapati Sridhar was thrilled watching the song. We have taken a gap of one day and released it as promotional song. We have completed the shooting in two days.”
“I was thrilled watching the trailer of completely new conceptual film ‘Maaya’,” said Kalamandir Mohan.
“The promotional song is different from the song that is present in the film. The remix which we shot in Kalamandir came out wonderfully,” explained Rama.
Neelakanta stated, “My earlier films didn’t do well at box-office. Therefore, I have taken due care in making ‘Maaya’. Now I am feeling relax. Earlier many films came in ESP genre, but this film is going to be bit different.”
“I told that I am not much aware of the promotion aspect. But, Madhura Sridhar asked me to do what he said and I did it. ‘Maaya’ is going to be a best thriller in Tollywood,” expressed Harshavardhan Rane.
Sudheer said, “I am happy that I have choreographed the dhoti song.”
“Concept of dhoti song is good. I wish that the film will be a big hit,” said Sirasri.
