Superstar Rajnikanth’s forthcoming film ‘Lingaa’ is scheduled for release this December. As per the Chennai sources, writer cum director K S Ravikumar is making efforts to complete the film before December so that the film can be planned for December 12, 2014 release marking the actor’s birthday.
‘Lingaa’ is the third collaboration of Rajnikanth and KS Ravikumar, the first being the blockbuster ‘Muthu’ in 1995 and the second being another sensational blockbuster ‘Padayappa’ in 1999. The duo planned to come out with a movie titled ‘Rana’ before ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ began. However, that film had been put on hold for various reasons.
In addition to ‘Lingaa’ getting A R Rahman for music, R Ratnavelu for cinematography and Pon Kumaran for the story, producer Rockline Venkatesh has roped in Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha for the females lead roles. Jagapathi Babu is playing a pivotal role in the film apart from Santhanam, Vadivelu, Karunakaran, Dev Gill, Vijay Kumar, Manobala, Radha Ravi, R Sundarrajan, Lauren K Irwin and William Orendorff.
