How often do you see a Music Director and Movie Director work together as a trigger that, they become a brand in themselves. Without a doubt, we are talking about the Virtuosi – A.R Rehman and Mani Ratnam. After delivering movies for the audience which can be watched repeatedly for its storyline and foot tapping music, the duo always seem to amaze their followers with something unique, every time.
OK Bangaram is one of their master-piece which is known to be “Romantic Movie of the Year”. As they say “Every love story is special”. But, the beauty lies in the way the Mani Ratnam narrates it. The story touches upon love, relationship (also, live-in relationship) of young, new age couples and the contemporary issues associated with it. It also, in a subtle way shows the importance of bonding unfolding the way forward in relationships to keep it going strong. The movie also talks about Alzheimer’s Disease, hence bringing about awareness on that.
Ok Bangaram is a story about young couple who meets out of luck and fall in love. Aadi (Dulquer Salmaan), a game designer comes to Mumbai to join his gaming company. Tara (Nithya Menen) is an architect, who meets Aadi in a bad situation. They meet again in a friend’s wedding and hit it off very well. They impulsively get into a live-in relationship and stay at Ganapathi’s (Prakash Raj)place. Though they are in love with each other, they have different dreams and aspirations. They part ways while they start chasing their goals. The story unfold into knowing if they can strike a balance in taking their relationship further and also, fulfilling their career aspirations.
