Young hero Chetan Maddineni who is getting ready to entertain movie lovers with Suneel Kumar Reddy's ‘Gulf’ revealed the secrets of ‘Gulf’ while speaking to scribes.
Chetan Maddineni who hails from Visakhapatnam completed his engineering in Andhra University after doing his schooling in Bengaluru. Chetan on sharing his ‘Gulf’ secrets said, “I always aspired to star in realistic roles and I am lucky to get the opportunity to star in the direction of Suneel Kumar Reddy.”
Quiz him on whether he is aware of the problems of the immigrants in Gulf, Chetan says, "Frankly speaking I wasn't aware of the problems though I have a vague idea as I always travel by Dubai flight to USA. I used to interact with the Gulf immigrants in the flight and came to know about their life styles.”
Chetan revealing his role in the film shares, “I am playing the role of Shiva, son of a weaver in Sircila who dreams of going to Gulf after seeing his friend go to Gulf and make an earning. Film is all about Shiva's happy and sorrow moments.”
Does Shiva has a love story, Chetan gets excited and says, “Yes. A cute love story which starts in his first flight to Gulf.” Chetan sharing his shooting experiences says, “I worked hard and even did research for my role along with director Suneel Kumar Reddy. My makeup man had tough task to change my looks and even then Suneel was not happy as he applied mud on my face.”
Chetan continues excitedly, “Suneel sir didn’t insist on my expressions and used to scold when I tried to give with my own expressions, which were sometimes artificial. He asked me to get my emotions right and told that this will automatically bring out the right expressions.”
Chetan says he struggled a lot to get Telangana dialect right. He says, “I worked hard for Telangana accent and during dubbing, I did dub dialogues twice to get them right. Now it is for the viewers to judge my performance.”
Chetan shares that Gulf is his second film. "My first film is Rojulu Marayi. I got the role through a common friend after meeting Maruti. Before that I trained in Satyanand Training Institute, encouraged by my dad who watched my short films during engineering.”
"I watched all the films of Suneel Kumar Reddy and I really liked Oka Criminal prema Katha" says Chetan. On his future projects, Chetan reveals, “My ‘I and Phone’, a scientific crime thriller is ready with the first copy. I am starring in the sandalwood remake of First Rank Raju which is directed by Naresh Kumar who directed the original. Maruti is producing this film.”
