Prominent poet, author, writer and lyricist Dr Cingireddy Narayana Reddy died on Monday i.e. on June 12 due to health complications. He was 85. As per the reports, he was rushed to the hospital in the morning due to health complications, but was declared dead.
He was born in a small village in Karimnagar district on July 29, 1931. He won Jnanapitha Award in 1988. Besides Jnanapitha, the noted poet received the Padma Shri in 1977 and Sahitya Academy Award. He was the former Rajya Sabha MP and Vice Chancellor of Telugu University. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan as well. He received Jnanapitha Award in 1980 for his magnum opus ‘Vishwambara’.
He has penned large number of super hit songs in Telugu. He was away from the film industry from the last few years. Telugu film industry condoled his death.
